That’s it I’m going, I got the day off work and I can ride down on Friday. Tunnel booed for a 0500 crossing, set off 0230 only to find my speedo light not working (no tickets yet)! I was going to fill up but arrived at check in, no worries I’ll do it in France. Very quick booking in etc in and on the train. Arrived beautiful morning, but no fuel in France, another 40 miles filled up in Belgium at last. , Despite boring motorway the scenery got better and better Spa area particularly, then into Germany. Luckily I bumped into Dimitri who led me to the rally.
The rally was simply superb,

It was a last minute decision to go to the PEP, I booked the tunnel and that’s the decision made! Great ride down starting at 0230 at n Friday morning arrived at 1, just under 400 miles. Tent up and have a look around, appreciating all the bikes there. Sat down enjoying a beer beer whilst listening to Markus, superb musician, hopefully he’s back next year too.
Spent the evening chatting, listening to the bands and having a beer or three!
I needed some more cash so went off with Bo to search for a machine, and more fuel! Found a lunch stop with a terrace overlooking the road. After a few minutes Udo a solo shovel rider turned up and we invited him to our table. After food We decided to go for a ride taking in the Vulkaneifle scenery which is stunning stopping off for a beer when it got too hot. Back in the rally for a great evening again, the only disappointment was I didn’t win the motor, not alone there. Left on Sunday later than planned due to the beers. The long ride back was thankfully uneventful until I got to the tunnel which was chaos, I blagged an earlier train and got home that evening. Superb rally, great bands, site and people. Next year I’m going to take more time!
